Eighth Annual West Coast Summit on African-American Genealogy

This year's West Coast Summit was held October 10-11 in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle.

Dr. Quintard Taylor, of the popular University of Washington TV series "The African American West", was the keynote speaker; his presentation was entitled "Family History - Putting the Pieces Together".

The conference was held at the Bellevue South Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 15205 SE 28th Avenue, Bellevue, Washington 98007.  Summit highlights included a full day of genealogical workshops, the keynote address by Dr. Taylor, and the opportunity to do research at the northwest regional National Archives (NARA) repository.

The Summit was hosted by the Black Genealogy Research Group of Seattle, P. O. Box 28513, Seattle, Washington 98118.
